yarny bits and walkabouts

went a walking and a crawling (to some pubs, that is)
had to leave my yarny little mark
at the neighborhood that would love it best

threw my knit tags together on the fly
stitched so last minute
they scream low key
basic
and true

quick, silent and fibery
that's my play for the day
make the yarn be with you all
and have a luscious tactile weekend

back in my "zone"

back in my "zone"
even wrote it on the knit
feeling my wild yarny oats
and sewing a few
on my friend's porch

Garbear and i have a plan to put silliness and smiles out into the world
co-authoring some art to place randomly around
this is my start
up to him to finish
you might remember him of late
in a previous post here
he has a funny sense about him
perfect
and he has experience in this sort of thing

the porch needed to be blissfully bombed
yarnfully despoiled
so while there
i affixed a dear knit up
to the post

it says
entering the love zone
a little cryptically, but nevertheless
there it is
it might be time for nearby hearts to set to a rumblin'
it maybe time for singles to collide and make doubles

or maybe the neighborhood stray
will lay kitties upon the stoop
and call it a day

anyway that it plays out
some heartfelt rumourings
are gathering restless wafts of breeze
and threatening flight

Message for the Blogosphere:

Enjoy these moments alone and with your hermit-like self. Cling to the small solitary stillness and deeply enjoy. When it is gone, you don't want to long for the quiet - stock up now and be free to play when the sun shines in your corner and beckons you to step, and step lively.

Knit Up travels abroad

I heard the call to arms (here).

As a fellow knitter and possibly, renegade yarn outlaw, I was intrigued and aware that this was something that I could be a part of and feel proud. Besides, it is not everyday that you have a chance to go international and have your work seen at The National Gallery of Austrailia!

I choose the colors that I did to reflect my town, which sits on the edge of a very large lake and has lovely rivers that course through it. I wanted the serenity of blue, and the texture of the creator, moi, Lady P.

But, I also wanted it to have the feel of the people of my town, to have some of their mojo if you will.
So - I made them try it on. Wear it. Get their cooties all over it. Like lovely Miss Mary up above.

Mr. Mike wanted to be a Knitto Bandito.

Sir Ron wanted to make sure that you knew a grande cafe came with his knit serape.

Brandie and Henry the Owl. Feelin' cozy in to the Yarny Pole Knit Up.

Will, secure in his manhood and happy to support the best international knit up in town! (at least for today)

.

Where would I be without my ride? It loves the carousing around town, looking for new spots to yarn bomb.

Oh, what's this? A Zombie Cupcake? hmmmmm.....wonder if I can trust the fluffy green one not to eat the lovely little knit up before it makes the journey across the mighty ocean. Dare I risk it?

art where you live

I walk the dog, I use the provided poop mitt when needed
I art where I live.

I just follow my bliss. Connect the yarn bits I have with the site that comes unbidden to my attention and then do the knitty thing. The knitbits ask to be put where they go - I am only the Knit Channel, I just do what I am told.

After being days behind my pledge to knit out daily ( I blame my wonky, index finger for wanting an unpaid holiday and lagging behind when the car door got closed) - so I was a knitter with a mission to get my latest bit of arting out up and visible. (Poop mitt dispenser above!)

Today, I had an accomplice (who shall remain anonymous, of course) who provided lookout and warned me of any stray red trucks that signaled the approach of the dreaded Parks Dept. Alas, they were everywhere today. I put it up and prayed.

Seriously, I have not seen so many of them in 2 square blocks for DAYS. Huh.

Hours of work - preciously few moments of real life appreciation for the tender love by which it was born, knit up love knows no boundaries with me.

The yarn force is with me - my knitting light saber ever ready by my side. The fight has just begun - and the dark side will not subdue the Fiber Within.

Post Script - tonight at 9:30, the dog and I strolled by the scene of the knit crime, and all was still well in the "yarniverse".
