me love to take photos

Why be shy? What if you just asked for what you wanted every now and again. Shock your staid sensibilities, live in the ever present gaping maw of the now and give forth in abandonment. Forget discretion and flare forward.

Yep - the Stripper Shoes. I call them the F*ck Me Pumps - same thing. Some can navigate the worst of sidewalks in these babies without a quiver or unsteady gate. Others need a hand railing to clutch at for the entire journey.

Wearing these babies you get a whole new perspective. You are perceptively taller, have a great leg line and now people can get a glimpse of your drawers. Hope they're prettier than mine. I am sadly in need of some panty bling. However you slice it - for a minute, before you possibly topple over - you are treading the hot and fast lane. It's a giggle.

This is all we've got folks - make the best of it. Collect what notions you have of yourself and then - give them a run for their money. Make sure they really have street cred and then throw something absolutely silly into the mix.

Find that true inner self.

Then, ROCK IT

P.S. - I just ordered all of us a new pair of shoes. They'll come wrapped in brown paper and you'll know what to do with them.
Every wardrobe should have a pair.
F*ck Me Pumps - no longer just for Strippers

Oh my, octopi!

Is there an octopus in the house? I wish that I could claim that this little bit of whimsical knitting came from my own industrious little fingers, but alas, it does not. But it was so damn cute, that it needed to be shown to the blogosphere in all it's retro colored beauty.

Could you swim by my place tonight? I'll give you more than eight good reasons to stay!!!!

If this had not been a special request order for a mutual friend, this would have landed in my handbag somehow, and come home with me. By this point, we would be on a first name basis and I would feel free to share with y'all some of the deep blue secrets that I had ferreted out over seafood cocktails.

The creator of the cute creature of the sea is my friend, Mary for Miss Lynar out of lovely yarn colors that were inspired by a vintage VW bug in Lynar's past.

This awesome pattern, and more, can be found here by Hansigurami. Damn, but if this girl ain't talented!

Hansi Singh also now has an entire book of her incredible knit amigurami = check it out!

Lovely little things

It's the little things in life that somehow pull you through. The cup above was a Christmas gift given to a friend who has a sincere fondness for Kermit the Frog. Drinking from this little plastic mug brightens any day. Makes you giggle.

A friend of mine has a great store and was the first person to come out and Yarn Bomb with me (here is our collaboration). You know that speaks volumes. Today is her day off - so I placed my little knit ups on her front door handles (she has two) with a deep sense of giggliness this morning. He he - I love being yarny secretive.

I could enjoy a cup of excellent brew and put up my bit of knitting. Such a refined way of doing an yarn installation. Ahhhhh......

Show off your girlish frill and turn up you tutu for the cameras, Knit Up!

These are done up in my friend's shop's colors - and they actually feel really good on the vintage handles to her esteemed store (check it out!)
It's these little things that keep one going, make you smile and able to laugh at the world. Being silly - I highly recommend it!

Sweet! I am back online again!

Oh my, oh golly - how wonderful to have my little fingers caressing the keyboard of my laptop once again! I have grown quite accustomed to this particular strain of creativity (that wondrous thing called blogging) , and relish the fact that not only do I have it back, but I have some fun new tools (Photoshop CS4!!) to begin to learn and play with! Watch out, world - Mama's gotta brand new toy - and she ain't gonna be afraid to use it none, either!

So, in honor of my sweet return - I wanted to share some photos that are tickling my sweet tooth at the moment. Cupcakes, of course, are always on the top of my indulgence list... I made these for my friends and they were lemony lemon, through and through.

Next would have to be my dear friend wrapped up in this boa of pinkness. A gift from a departing friend (we miss you Pinky!) How lovely can it be to have a friend that brings you gifts at her own going away gathering? Yep, we are blessed.

Last but not least - these amazingly colorful crayons from Wacky Crayons. I am in special love with Dragonflies, so this particular shape had great resonance with me. I wanted to just sit down and color all day, but I was with my Mom and she still won't let me do those things - even though I am old enough to disagree with her and have my own way. Damn - I gotta grow out of that sometime soon. In the meantime, I'll just get on the Internet (hehe! so nice to have my computer back - I can't even tell you!) and order some to play with on my own. I'll tell you all about it later - maybe encourage you to start coloring too.
