when i roam

the trip to the forest's edge was fraught with liquid sky
falling into the fire
we had to cool our heels
and enjoy the slowness of nature time
all so very, very fine

this lichen is the color of limes and summer frolic
could it soften my fall?
it smiles of tree silliness
nature's accent color as the season of Fall boasts it's presence
at the turn of a leaf and cloud

this guy had a big crush on me this holiday
his head nudging me for attentions and love
handsome and dark
what more could a girl want?

my roaming camping companions as we struck out past the fields
looking for respite
moments free of concrete harried stress
in between sighs and tranquility
too seldom found
cherished, unforgotten

Message to the Blogosphere:

I am back - and will resume my careening tour through all your blogs momentarily.

Choices, choices choices - at the corner of my life and where next? just go with your gut, baby, you can never go wrong in the long run if you just do what feels right. mind and heart must share space - do not over analyze what you know must be done. Face the fear of the best choice your heart can bear ( how can you fear your joy, sweetness?!)- cuz therein lies the gravy, the mana, the future of life.

creature comforts

lasso your secret and best kept desires
lay into a new world beyond the realm of which you are keepin
attack the creature and consume the comforts
chip away at the chocolate you crave and conspire

out of the oven
fresh and brimming with bubbles of you
sweetness that kindles and cavorts
taste what you long to set free

maybe your are partaking of the wrong cup of tea
something to sooth you
not far from where you began
easier if you could have the vision
it need not be so sweet for the sustenance it would bring
fills all needs and appetites

Message for the Blogosphere:

times are materially tough, and you feel the pressure, the tightening of the financial purse strings, the constrainment in your daily forays. do what you need to do, don't sacrifice too readily for you may do yourself undue harm. do only what is level, your level best as it were. sharing to make the load less, caring to make the times softer, harboring less doubt and more a sense of a bigger vision that takes you back to your basic self, the one you came in with, the one that knows what you truly crave when things get a little down.

summerlicious

summer fun the colors of summer remembering to stop remembering to summer

hot weather
always makes me want to have fried food -
must be my memories
baseball parks filled with little leaguers, swim meets in Southern Cal, bowling alleys with beer and fries

i can pull over in a minute to look at a sky that has the action of Zeus within it's airy grasp

little morsels of heaven - a no no for me, but a definite YES for summer

Better horizons

Bring it

That is what my friend GarBear always says when I get cheeky/sassy with him, make silly idle threats, go off wacky and giggle wildly to myself (hey - sometimes I am the only one who gets the joke!)

Message to the Blogosphere:

Just do it - even if you are unsure, haven't a clue where the whole gosh darn thing is off to - just do it. It can't be any worse than sitting around not being as happy as you could be but playing it all together too safe. Safe can be overrated. Hell, even mildly dangerous. Take a little walk on the wild side.

This week, the glass is half full.

Out of the Blue

This sun roof gives you the world through ultra sky tinted windows. Feels a bit like being underwater.

How could she merely be a car's hood ornament, I ask.

More photos from the weekend.

I took close to 250 shots, so don't be a vintage hater, otherwise this week is gonna be a l o n g one for ya.

But of course, not everything in my photos will be old. Look at this sweet little one right here - why, he's got less than a year on him.

PS: I promise to tell you the "full" dog story, when I get out of my moodies and can find my cadence for the telling of it. Rounding off the corners, leaving only the best, prime cut for the likes of all of you.

Car Show Gleam

Armed with the point-n-shoot camera, off to look at what rocks the socks off the car world.

Gleaming, streaming, lacquered color

This Metropolitan 1960 Nash/Rambler was aptly called "Pinki" - little cutie that she is.

1941 Lincoln Zephyr - what you would call a leggy and luxurious car in any decade. I would give anything to have these lines gracing the car forms of this century.

Today, I was in photo heaven and I wasted not a frame of it.

(this ones for you, Meg)

inner callings

What difference does it make how I am treated by life? My real life is within.
-Angela L. Wozniak

I have a book that I retreat to when times are hard, I need a help line to be thrown, and maybe no one else is getting my dire drift. I randomly open it, read the meditation and mentally unwind.
A week of questioning - outsiders and those within, questioning my whys and wherefores, thrusting unwanted energy into my playing field, making the process of following my heart and soul an arduous task when it should be much simpler. Murky waters and not always knowing the next step, but being prepared to make a "feel" for it and hope for the best
.
The found dog was the easiest part of the reuniting equation this week, the rest being at times a little ugly (from loved ones ?!) and more. Dog equals pure love, that is truth. Humans need work.

Blogging - an act of passion and sharing with my community. My blog for my city - under scrutiny by the geek squad and a legal beagle with hearty questions. Why do I care? Speak too quickly for my own words, when in fact, they don't care one iota about my truth.

I need some more lead in my feet, a little thicker skin and a healthy dose or self respect slathered on daily.

AMEN.

Party this, Party that

Party Here Party There

Pooch Party Farewell Party Block Party

I am running out of Creative time - damn!
gotta run
need to fit some ME time in while that clock is still tickin'

have a great weekend out there
