taking a moment...

I have been a little crazed with reporting on my other presence here in the blogosphere, and have kinda neglected cruising and perusing what wonderfulness my favorite peeps have been up to these days. Excuse me for being remiss.

So, it has been awhile since I counted my blessings - quickly, for the sewing machine awaits me- here they are

To all my great friends at the coffee shop, who brightened my day as I battled the "ugly comment syndrome" with my other blog - my heart smiled and you made me feel wanted

I made a few sales at the store here in town! yeah for more inspiration to continue creating

To my Mom - who doesn't really understand me and my notion of life's journey, but loves me anyways

To the realization that at any minute someone or something new can enter your life and add an ingredient to the mix that you never thought you were missing until then

To all of you who may stop by today - we might not always please one another in our actions and behavior, but maybe that is a good thing

what day is it?

Can you believe that it is June already?

I am in disbelief. I think that as I age the seasons are definitely getting shorter. There are just not enough hours in the day. I never get enough done, even if I burn the candle at both ends. I eat less and gain more. I am certain that I am now a mere mortal, and I think about how many years I have left to get the things I think need doing done.

But, I still can rally a thankful list of whatnots, and praise the day, seeings how I am lucky enough to still have one.

1. I am going grey (everywhere, if you catch my drift) but I still have all of my hair, and have a list of people who would like to "borrow" my tresses for parties, special nights out, senior (citizen) proms

2. I have a good belly laugh at least once a day - and I mean, silly and loud and make my Mom slightly wince (if she is around) type of laugh - and that is a distinct pleasure ( the laugh, not the Mom thing - the Mom thing is just, well, slightly annoying. She still tries to "shush" me, like I was seriously damaging her reputation - I mean, are they going to throw her out of the game club cuz her daughter is known to guffaw indiscreetly!?)

3. I painted my own toenails today - and they look pretty good. Amateur hour over here at chez Lady P - got to reserve the very limited resources!

4. I get slices of Mango cake and awards from people (here) and I couldn't be happier about it!

5. After living many years abroad, I have family around me now, and it is a blessing. My Mom is a blessing. I had forgotten what it was like to have people who really care nearby. When you slam you finger in the door, they care. The next day, they look at your booboo and ask how you are. Can't buy that kind of happiness.

6. I am kinda fond of this whole blogging thing - and you - whoever you are that is reading this - well, thank you for visiting. I hope you have a nice list of "thankfuls" yourself. Feel free to share some ......

Thankful Thursday

In honor of the other blogs I have seen who post on Thursdays in this vein, I will toast today and be thankful. I am thankful for having the privilege to be a free woman, who may go where she wants (within the confines of my pocketbook, presently empty, sigh) and take photos of all the piques her interest. Which happens to be quite a lot.

I am thankful for the lovely blue skies that have come back around and the flurries of petalful color to be found on every street and yard and bush these Springminded days. Here be Azaleas.

I am thankful for green ( my major preference in nature's color scheme as of late) and the vintage vehicles of said hue that catch my amused little eye. I have dreams of owning one and driving out to beaches yet unvisited to dip my toes and heave heavy sighs.

I am thankful to friends and family upon whom I may indulge my baking whims. Today, Rhubarb Muffins in the sun, coffee in hand, friends gathered round with moist, still warm from the oven bites in filled with appreciative yummy noises mouths.
